This Polish breed can be auto-sexed. They are said to be good foragers and broodies and the cream-white to pale grey egg is claimed to be low in cholesterol. Males weigh around 2.3kg and females 1.7kg.

The breed is endangered due to a lower performance compared with commercial hybrids. In 1998 only 624 birds were known to exist. The breed was established in 1923 as a formal strain of the indigenous fowl of Poland.
