A breed of the Oriental class, the Cubalaya was developed in Cuba and traces its history back to birds that probably came from the Philippines. The birds in the photographs show the typical stance, with a long straight line from the base of the neck down the tail. Cubalayas have short beaks and heads and a pea comb. They are recognized in the APA's Standard in Black Breasted Red, Black, and White varieties.
