Bantams

The Dominique bantam to the left was the Rose Comb Clean Leg Reserve Champion at the Muscatine, Iowa poultry show in late November of 1997. She was judged against over 150 RCCL entries to attain the 2nd place spot. This was no small feat as the show was also hosting the Wyandotte Bantam District Meet.

This pullet is from the Unbeatable Beauty line of Dominique bantams raised by Mark Fields of Clark, Missouri. This line was formed by merging several of the old bantam lines.

The hen to the right was the Champion Bantam Dominique at the 1997 Dominique National held in early November at Frederick, Maryland. She was also named Reserver R.C.C.L., having won against 197 other RCCL entrants.

This hen, also owned by Mark Fields, is the result of crossing the old Hemphill strain of bantams, with a large fowl Dominique and top-crossing with a Phelps cock bantam. She has excellent carriage and head though she carries her tail folded together.

The picture to the left is Dominique Club of America member, Jack Bloomer, with a prize winning Dominique bantam cockerel. This cockerel has very good type and excellent color. Notice the long sickle feathers (main tail feathers), this has been lost in many of the recently developed bantam strains.

The flock of young Dominique bantams pictured below are owned by Gurney Davis, President of the Dominique Club of America. Notice the alert look and the uniformity of the females.
