Old Polish Crested Hens

This old breed is actually from Poland. Crested Old Polish are found in a variety of colors and both single and rose comb forms. It is considered a dual purpose breed and produces 150-170 tinted eggs/year. The birds weigh in at between 1.8 and 3 kg.

They are cold hardy and do well on free range. They are also known to be good broodies.

The alternative name Polska Kura Dworska translates approximately as Polish Courtyard Hen.
