A Wompoo Fruit Dove

These birds are found in New Guinea and eastern Australia.

They often feed in large groups. They move acrobatically thru the branches seeking the figs and other fruits they prefer. They will occasionally eat insects, also. The birds are able to swallow fruits of over 3/4" in diameter.
