The Oriental Frill is one of the Owl Pigeons, which are noted for their very short beaks and rounded heads. Due to the shortness of the beak, they are poor feeders of their young and often these are given to surrogate parents for raising.
The Oriental Frill is an ancient Turkish breed. Blondinettes and Satinettes are the most common varieties. The original form is still being kept as the Old Fashioned Oriental Frill.
